Biography | Tomáš Brauner
Tomáš Brauner belongs to the most sought-after conductors of his generation. At present, he is the Pilsen Philharmonic Chief-Conductor and the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra Principal Guest Conductor.
Besides the artistic positions mentioned above, Tomáš Brauner regularly cooperates with the leading symphony orchestras and opera houses such as the Prague Symphony Orchestra, Munich Symphony Orchestra, National Radio Orchestra Romania,  PKF-Prague Philharmonia, Slovak Philharmonic, Slovak State Philharmonic,  Philharmonie Südwestfalen, Czech National Symphony Orchestra, Moscow Radio State Orchestra, Orchestra of Colours Athens, Janáček Philharmonic Ostrava, Prague Chamber Orchestra, Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic, Moravian Philharmonic Olomouc or  North-Bohemian Philharmonic Teplice.
He started in 2007  his opera conducting career in the JK Tyl Theatre in Pilsen where he premiered a wide range of opera titles such as La Gioconda by Ponchielli, Don Giovanni by Mozart, Maid of Orleans by Tchaikovsky, Il Turco di Italia by Rossini, Jacobin by Dvořák, Turandot by Puccini, Faust by Gounod,  Adriana Lecouvreur by Francesco Cilea and other. 
In 2008 he made his début in the State Opera  Prague with Othello by Verdi and since then he has directed many titles (Don Quijote by Massenet, The Barber of Seville by Rossini, La Bohéme and Tosca by Puccini, Nabucco by Verdi, Carmen by Bizet,  The Magic Flute by Mozart and the concert performance of Mignon by Ambrois Thomas).
In the National Moravian-Silesian Theatre in Ostrava he newly studied Nabucco and Ernani by Verdi, Maria Stuarda by Donizetti, Romeo and Juliet by Gounod, Hamlet by Thomas or Kátá Kabanova by Janáček.  In Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City he has conducted Jenůfa by Janáček. He also concucted ballet performances - Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty by Tchaikovsky. In 2010  he has prepared new production - Hunchback of Notre Dame by Maurice Jarre (Opera Pilsen) and 2011 Gisell by Adam in State Opera Prague 
Tomáš Brauner has given a guest performance at significant international festivals such as the Richard Strauss Festival in Garmisch Parten-Kirchen where he has performed An Alpine Symphony with the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra, Bad Kissingen International Music Festival,  Prague Spring, Smetana´s Litomyšl International Opera Festival, International Music Festival Český Krumlov.
Tomáš Brauner was born in Prague in 1978. He studied the oboe and conducting at the Prague State Conservatory and in 2005 he graduated from  Conducting the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague with Prof. Radomil Eliška. Then he continued in a study stay at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Vienna with Prof. Uroš Lajovič. In 2010 he became the laureate of  the Dimitris Mitropoulos International Conducting Competition in Athens.
